Maia lithography has been selling decks of playing cards of the finest quality since 1926. It is the only brand of its kind in Portugal and one of the oldest in Europe. The brand has moved on from lithographic printing to offset, but continues, nevertheless, to use special paper  – setting them apart from all the others available in the market.  The preferred one by many recreational associations for its durability, some of Maia’s card sets display a very peculiar detail: the traditional Joker is replaced by the image of an adorable donkey.
