"Jacobetty Rosa significantly contributed to Lisbon town planning. He was the author of very significant works including the Estádio Nacional do Jamor – Jamor National Stadium –, the plan for the Bairro de S. Miguel – S. Miguel district –, the number 9, Avenida Augusto Aguiar, and the numbers 92 to 94, Rua da Infantaria 16, both Valmor Prizes in 1934 and 1931, respectively. Furthermore, Jacobetty Rosa authored important public works, including one of the first national inns, the Pousada de Santa Luzia (Elvas). Also, the Pousadas de S. Brás de Alportel and Santiago do Cacém, in addition to the town planning for Portalegre, Vila Franca de Xira, Alhandra, Caldas de Monchique, Lagos and Torres Vedras.

The Collection Miguel Martins consists of a coherent set of furniture designed by the architect Jacobetty Rosa for the Residence of Miguel Martins, at the Rua da Imprensa à Estrela, 21-3º, Lisbon. In addition to the office on display, comprised by a desk, two office chairs, a coffee table, an armchair, a cupboard with attached floor lamp and couch, and three office frames, the collection donated also includes a living room three seat couch, a dining room chair, a single bed, a single room dressing table and the complete file with sixteen original drawings and blueprints signed and dated, concerning all the furniture designed for the above mentioned private residence.

This is a unique collection with outstanding asset value given its uniformity, condition, and technical documentation. Besides being very representative of Miguel Jacobetty Rosa language during the 1950s, it has a unique formal quality and shows an excellent woodwork. It is, thus, a rare and complete example of modern Lisbon private interiors of the 1950s made known thanks to the donation granted."
