With its roots in antiquity, the spinning top is a traditional children's game in Portugal. The wooden toy must be wrapped with a rope or string and vigorously thrown to the ground, where it must spin and dance for as long as possible. The tops selected by A Vida Portuguesa are handmade in Barcelos, in the north of Portugal.
