Authentic Papa blanket, produced in an old handloom, using the greasy wool" for extra warmth, in beige colour.

Maçainhas village (near Guarda, where Marquês de Pombal initiated textile production) used to earn a living from the produ. Since 1966, José Freire Blanket Factory is the last of its kind to produce them in the whole of Portugal. During the summer time, the thick and long “greasy wool” of the local sheep is spun and woven on an old handloom. The final result are these thick and very warm blankets, with a distinctive long  thread.
