The Bordallo Pinheiro Artistic Ceramics Factory carries the torch of the Ceramics Factory from Caldas da Rainha, founded in 1884 by the designer and caricaturist genius Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro. An original artistic project, combining industrial production with a quest for the essence of being Portuguese. The factory continues to reproduce pieces from its extraordinary faience collection and to expand it with new creations inspired by his originals, such as lobster plates or cabbage dinner ware – not forgetting the original swallows.
