Book available only in Portuguese edition

Following the first volume - Laudalino da Ponte Pacheco 1963–1975- dedicated to black-and-white photography, we return to the world of this unique photographer from Maia to discover a new collection of images, this time in colour, taken between 1975 and 1995.

Weddings, births, deaths, christenings, slaughter festivals, processions, inaugurations and thousands of individual and group portraits make up this vivid portrait of a community and an era. These are images that bring us closer to the people, their gestures and the rituals of everyday life, revealing ways of living and being that span generations and remain part of the collective memory.

The book includes texts by Maria Emanuel Albergaria, João Leal and Susana Lourenço Marques, which help us to contextualise the life of Laudalino da Ponte Pacheco and the era in which he lived, to understand his aesthetic sensibility and to discover the anthropological richness of these images.

More than just a photographic record, this book is an invitation to look at Maia and the island of São Miguel through the photographs of someone who was there, closely following the life of a community over two decades.
