Papaver rhoeas

Annual herbaceous plant. Its delicate, satin red flowers bloom during spring. Originally from the Middle East, it was brought to Portugal by the Romans along with wheat. Its petals have medicinal and food applications, and can be consumed in salads, as well as seeds. No watering required.
