“A Bruxa e os Frutos” is a proper representation of an almond, where digital and manual modeling is enhanced and mutually valued. This piece is made of porcelain, transparent glazed inside. The pieces are made by hand, with slight variations. Is possible to machine washing and the use of microwaves.

Packed in a cardboard box, wrapped in a paper strap that contains an illustration and a summary of the short story “The Witch and the Fruits”. It recreates the fantastic creature of the witch that is part of the popular and traditional Portuguese imaginary power. Content in Portuguese and English.

Telling the story of a different Portugal - It is in this spirit that, in June 2013, Laboratório d'Estórias emerges: an experimental design space that aims to be inspired by the stories of Portuguese popular culture to reinvent traditional objects, using them to tell new stories - and, why not, to recreate the country's own history.

The result of this experimentation is a conceptual approach of its own. Starting from the ancestral techniques of Caldas da Rainha ceramics and materials such as faience, we are both led to cross the idea of a petrified basil with the supposed love between Perseus and Medusa, and to discover the history of Corvo, a symbol of Lisbon, as a trickster who pecked at the legs of the ladies at the door of the taverns. Narratives with an uncertain ending, with unpredictable directions - both in the technique or materials used, as in the stories to be told.
