About the workshop: Come and celebrate freedom with your own two hands!
We invite you to join us for a moment of sharing and creativity, where we’ll transform yarn and needles into a symbol of freedom. In this workshop, we’ll learn how to crochet a carnation, turning it into a delicate and meaningful brooch to wear close to your heart.
Whether to celebrate a special occasion or simply to learn a new technique, this session is for everyone: from those who are already skilled with a needle to those who have never tied a single knot.
The skills you’ll acquire here are versatile — the stitches and techniques you learn for the carnation can be applied later to create other personalised projects. And don’t worry about the pace: if you can’t finish your piece during the session, you’ll take home materials and instructions so you can continue practising at your own pace.
A kit containing all necessary materials is provided.
About Inês:
Those with a knack for woodwork...
...can’t keep their hands still!
That’s Inês San Payo for you. She dabbles in a bit of everything and claims she can’t do a thing.
Having trained at António Arroio and developed a passion for ceramics in Caldas, Inês loves trying out new techniques and learning new crafts.
A true Lisbon native and a resourceful soul, she learns what she needs and keeps nothing to herself. She moves from one art form to another as easily as one moves from one home to another: crochet, ceramics, glass, design, sewing… she’s never still.
She currently works at A Vida Portuguesa, where she lives surrounded by objects that tell our story and celebrate national tradition and craftsmanship.
In crochet, she discovered the versatility of creating anywhere. As a teacher, her mission is simple: to demystify the technique, sharing her knowledge with the same ease as a chat among friends, and with the passion of someone who believes that creating is, above all, a form of freedom.
