A Vida Portuguesa at Pratt Institute

As part of the presence at the MoMA Design Store and at the invitation of the Pratt Institute, one of the most renowned universities worldwide with regards to art, design, architecture, humanities and information studies, Nuno Coelho - communication designer, artist, curator and professor at the University of Coimbra -; Jorge Colombo - illustrator, photographer and graphic designer, internationally known for his digital covers for The New Yorker -; and our founder, Catarina Portas, will present three lectures on the history of Portugal through our brands and packaging; the evocative power of the textures and surfaces of various materials and tools used by Jorge Colombo, namely in the illustrations he made for A Vida Portuguesa; and what A Vida Portuguesa is and why a store like this was created. The afternoon of lectures will take place on March 7, from 3 pm to 5 pm, in the Alumni Reading room of the Pratt Institute, and will be open to students of the university as well as the general public. This cultural program is supported by the Portuguese Ministry of Culture.
