From Anchieta to Rua Nova do Almada, but still in Chiado!
It is with great joy that we announce that A Vida Portuguesa has moved to the former Livraria Férin, at Rua Nova do Almada nº 72.
The second oldest bookshop in Lisbon closed its doors, as such, at the end of 2023, without anyone from the same sector wanting to take it back. Thus, A Vida Portuguesa rents the space to reopen in Chiado, after the closure of its store on Rua Anchieta.
A Vida Portuguesa, as it has done in other historic spaces it has occupied and continues to occupy, is committed to returning an old shop to the city, preserved and restored down to the last detail. And for the sake of our memory, we decided that the book section will be located right at the entrance, in this new shop that will be much larger than the previous one, also completely occupying the lower floor in September.
This is the beginning of a new A Vida Portuguesa in Chiado. A happy moment, thanks to a meeting of minds between an exemplary tenant and landlord. Together, we want to make this space the most beautiful shop in Chiado. A shop that belongs to the place where it is, that knows its community, that remembers it and that knows how to look further afield.
Therefore, from August 2 we will welcome our very dear customers, who have supported us so much, in our new A Vida Portuguesa location at Férin, Rua Nova do Almada 72, Chiado.
